Have you noticed the "Zion Ministries" table in the narthex? Each month a different ministry of Zion will be featured. Take some time during the month to learn about the ministry from the display, take home a handout explaining the purpose and responsibilities of the ministry, and prayerfully consider if God is calling you to be a part of that team. He has a place for you to serve in at least one ministry. This month's feature is Library Committee. Additional team members are needed for next year, but don't wait --- new team members are always welcome. A sign-up sheet is on the table, if you would like to respond (or you can contact a member of the Lay Leadership Committee, or you can just call or e-mail the office, (724) 353-1720 or office@zionsarver.com.
Prayer Warriors! It has come to my attention that my list of all Prayer Warriors is in dire need of an update. If you are a Prayer Warrior, would you please e-mail or call me with your name, e-mail address, and phone number. I would also like to know who contacts you, if you contact anyone, and if you are willing to make a couple of phone calls to those that do not have an e-mail. Also, if you are not a member of the Prayer Warriors and would like to join us, please contact me a.s.a.p., so I can add you to the new list. My e-mail is as follows: karenlalwine@zoominternet.net. Thank you so much for all you do!
Anytime soon - Zion United Methodist Women - School bags - Anyone handy with a sewing machine is need to sew school kit bags. Doris Sell has cut out the pieces of fabric needed for each bag. The ladies just need volunteers to sew up seams and make the handle. In case you haven't seen these bags, they look like a smaller version of a tote bag. This is a good mission project for the person who is unable to travel, or do physical labor. But it is soooooo worthwhile.
The Mission Encounter Team is in need of volunteers to make breakfast casseroles for Sunday, April 20. You can make it and bring it in, or you can help make them at the church on Saturday, April 19.
In honor of all mothers, our yearly Baby Bottle Campaign for Life Choices will begin Sunday, April 20. Look for the display in the narthex. We are asking each family to take an empty bottle and return it with your donation by Mother's Day, May 11. The funds from these bottles help young mothers and couples make Christian decisions regarding sexual integrity, sanctity of human life, and preserving the family unit.
Pentecost is very eary this year---May 11. This is the day we celebrate the infilling of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church. This is also the day we receive the Confirmation Class into full membership. There will be a Pentecost/Confirmation Reception at 9:00 a.m. in the Fellowship hall. Greet the confirmands, enjoy the refreshments and fellowship, and celebrate this special day with us. Don't forget to wear red!
Church and Society is collecting canned vegetables and cleaning supplies Sunday, April 6 and Sunday April 13. All donations including monetary ones are greatly appreciated. Imagine how we could help teh Cabot Food Bank if everyone would donate just one item. Look for the Food Bank box in the narthex and downstairs by the elevator. Thank you!
The FAMILY ROOM is available for nursing mothers, fussy babies, and fidgety toddlers. There is a speaker in this room so you can still hear the service. ALL children in this room are to be accompanied by a parent. This room is located in the hallway behind the Sanctuary - Room #14. An usher will be available to direct you there.
The NURSERY is open for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers up to and including Kindergarten. There is an adult supervisor and some youth helpers awaiting some children in Room #9. This is located on the lower level of our Education Wing. Again, an usher will be available to direct you.
