NURSERY/CHILDCARE UPDATE:
Our Church Nursery is now staffed and available for the 8:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. worship service each Sunday.
NURSERY NEWS:
We have been mandated by the Western PA Conference and the Safe Sanctuaries to make our childcare ministries as safe as possible for children and parents. With this in mind, we are striving to make our Nursery more child friendly and comfortable. We have developed guidelines for this purpose and will work hard to keep them in the forefront of the ministry. If you are using the Nursery, we appreciate your patience and cooperation. Thank you!
We will now have (2) levels for childcare...
FAMILY ROOM - Room #14 (Upper Level)--for nursing mothers, fussy babies, fidgety toddlers, and children who need to settle. There is a speaker in this room so you can still hear the service. ALL children in this room are to be accompanied by a parent. If you prefer to stay with your children, this is the room for you. It is located in the hallway behind the Sanctuary.
NURSERY - Room #9 (Lower Education Wing)
NURSERY GUIDELINES: (Room#9 in the lower level)
1. Children up to and including Kindergarten age are permitted in the Nursery. There are activity bags for ages 3 - 10 available in the Narthex for use during worship. Our Nursery is for Infants and Toddlers to age 5 only.
2. ALL children using the Nursery are to be signed in by a parent. NO child is to be sent to the Nursery alone or with a sibling. Information is required before parent departs for worship.
3. Parents are required to pick up children immediately after worship. Children WILL NOT be released to any sibling under the age of 13 years. DO NOT send a youngster to get your child because the attendant on duty WILL NOT allow the child to go.
4. There will be (2) trained attendants on duty in each Nursery level. There is an adult and at least one teen on duty. These attendants have been through the Red Cross Babysitting Course and are certified in CPR. If we do not have (2) attendants present, the Nursery will be open for parental use only. You will need to remain with your child at all times when this occurs.
5. ALL items belonging to your child should be marked. This includes blankets, personal security items, and diaper bags. Be sure to leave any special instructions with the attendants.
6. There is a paging system so that parents can be notified immediately if they are needed in the Nursery.
NO OLDER SIBLINGS ARE PERMITTED TO STAY.
"Munchin Methodist" Quiet Packs - (Children ages 3 through 10). These are found in the narthex and are labeled with appropriate age levels for your convenience. Take a tote into worship and then place it back in the used bin afterward. Be sure to take the children's bulletin with you at the end of worship.
Special Services:
We are fully handicapped accessible.
We have assisted listening devices for the hearing impaired.
We offer audio tapes or CDs of the worship service.
New Prayer Ministry:
As a regular spiritual discipline on Monday and Thursday, Rev. Kathy Mikesell will be spending time in the Prayer Chapel praying for Zion concerns and guidance. If you have specific concerns, please add them to the prayer box on her desk, using the prayer cards
